Consulting, planning and assessment of room acoustics issues
In the course of the planning, our building physics engineers discuss with our clients both the legal building requirements based on DIN 18041 (audibility in rooms) and individual, use-specific room acoustics concepts, e.g. based on various guidelines of the Association of German Engineers or on your individual requirements. By calculating the expected reverberation time, we show what acoustic conditions to expect in your rooms even before the construction and the renovation begin.

Calculation of the reverberation time/inclusion
Calculations for restoration and optimization measures can be made on the basis of measurements. For new buildings, the calculation is based on plans, taking into account the surfaces and equipment you require.
In the course of the room acoustics planning, we calculate the number of required surfaces, e.g. on walls and ceilings, for sound absorption and reflection. We also dimension the absorbers required and determine the position and arrangement of these surfaces. Rooms used by people with hearing impairments are specially planned and adapted (inclusion).
Measurement of the reverberation time
In addition to a large number of room acoustics parameters, which are listed in literature and standardization, the reverberation time is the most frequent and most common parameter used to describe the acoustic characteristics of a room. With our high-quality measuring equipment we measure the reverberation time and speech intelligibility in rooms of all types and sizes. Such a measurement can serve as an inventory as well as for quality assurance and acceptance of a planning.
Does your room sound dull, shrill or even booming? Is your acoustics too dry or much too reverberant? Most of our sensations can be confirmed by room acoustic measurements and graphically displayed and evaluated using the frequency response.
