Good ventilation of rooms of all kinds serves to ensure occupational safety, hygiene, the avoidance of structural damage, comfort and much more.

While adequate ventilation is generally a matter of course for commercial buildings thanks to occupational health and safety guidelines, certification requirements and the tasks of the technical building services engineers, the topic of residential ventilation is still often neglected today.

However, numerous court rulings make it clear that frequent window opening cannot be imposed on the user (especially on employees) and that the necessary ventilation must be ensured by constructional means. DIN 1946-6 requires the creation of ventilation concepts both for renovations and for new residential buildings.
